Understanding Chronic Pain

Nobody wants to live in pain. Experiencing chronic pain, day in and day out, can take a toll—not just on the body, but also on the mind and on the spirit. Discovering an effective way to manage chronic pain is paramount—yet pain management comes with risks of its own. Sometimes, the medications that mitigate pain can become habit-forming or even addictive, creating dependence and leading to a whole other kind of pain.

At The Well Recovery Center, we help men and women struggling with chronic pain take their first step toward healing, hope and wholeness. We aid them in their transition into a new, better life. Our holistic, dual diagnosis detox is a place of tranquility and healing—a place made for new beginnings. Our detox center is also pet-friendly, which allows our clients to make sure their furry friends are also looked after while they get the help they need.

The experience of chronic pain can lead to other problems, including:

  • Sleeplessness
  • Withdrawal from relationships/ activities
  • Depression
  • Mood changes

Causes of Chronic Pain

Similarly, there are a number of causes that can potentially explain chronic pain, including:

  • Arthritis
  • Multiple Sclerosis
